PETER HUBER

Peter Huber was born in 1967 in Wels. He is a researcher at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO). He studied Economics at the University of Economics and Business Administration in Vienna, the University of Innsbruck and the Institute of Advanced Studies (IHS), Vienna where he also worked as a research assistant. Since 2012, he is acting as vice-director for external co-ordination at WIFO.

His main research interests are in regional economics and the analysis of migration and commuting patterns in Europe. He has lectured, researched and lived in Brno, East Berlin, Kromeriz, Olomouc, Salzburg and Samara. He has participated on international projects under the auspices of the World Bank, European Commission or OECD.

He reviews articles for journals such as Journal of Comparative Economics, Journal of Applied Financial Economics, International Journal of Financial Economics and many others, and he is also a member of the Editorial Board of Empirica.
